Hydra-Jungle (Morning) After the group escaped from the cages the night before,  Lapidus leads Sawyer, Jack, Hurley, Kate, Sun, Jin, and Claire to the plane. Jack reiterates to Kate that he will help them, but won’t get on the plane, as he belongs on the main island.  Sayid appears from the jungle, but Jack vouches for Sayid, and Sayid joins the group.

Hydra- Landing Strip- (Morning)- Locke, unknown to the group, had already arrived at the plane and removed a watch from a dead member of Widmore’s team and removed a bomb from the plane that Charles Widmore had planted.

Hydra- Landing Strip- (Day)- As the group approaches the plane, Locke steps out and greets them.  Locke tells them the plane is too dangerous as he shows them the bomb he found.  He tells them they must use the submarine instead. He tells them the submarine will be heavily defended and will need everyone, including Jack, to infiltrate it. Jack agrees, but tells Locke that although he will help, but not leave the island.

Hydra- Submarine Dock- (Day)- The group approaches the submarine and it is not defended from the dock. Sawyer, Hurley, Sun, and Frank enters the submarine and ambush the officers inside of the submarine, while Jack, Kate, and Claire fight off Charles Widmore’s team as they arrive from the jungle. A firefight ensues between the two groups and Kate is hit in the upper left shoulder.  Locke secretly switches his backpack containing rigged explosives with Jack’s backpack.

Hydra- Submarine Dock- (Day)- The submarine dives and leaves the dock, leaving Claire and Locke to kill off Widmore’s team as Jack pulls Kate into the safety of the sub. Locke tells Claire she doesn’t want to be on that submarine and he will now finish what he started.

Aboard Submarine- (Day) Jack pulls Kate into the safety of the submarine in order to operate on her, while Sawyer instructs the Submarine officer to have the submarine to dive

Aboard Submarine- (Day) Jack opens up his bag expecting to find surgical tools to operate on Kate and instead finds a bomb rigged to explode.  Jack tells the group that the bomb will not go off if they leave it alone. Jack tells the group Locke can’t kill them; they can only kill themselves, so if they leave the bomb alone it will not explode.  Sawyer cannot resist trying to diffuse the bomb and triggers an impending explosion. Sayid grabs the bomb and runs deep into the rear of the submarine to save the balance off the crew from the explosion. The bomb explodes, killing Sayid and Sun becomes trapped.  Jin stays with Sun and tries in vain to save her, but they both drown.   Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley survive and are able to escape the crippled submarine. It is assumed that Frank died as a blown door wedged him.

Main Island – (Night) Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley wash ashore on the beach of the main island.

Main Island- Jungle (Day/Night) Miles, Richard, and Ben continue their inexplicable journey toward the barracks to procure C-4 explosive to blow up the Ajira plane.

Main Island Beach- East Coast (Morning)- Jack tends to Kate’s gunshot wound she received from the fire fight with Widmore’s team the day before at Hydra’s submarine dock.  The bullet went straight through.  Sawyer, Kate, Hurley and Jack look out at the ocean, commiserating over Jin, Sun's, and Frank’s death. Jack tells the group Sayid told him Desmond is in a well ½ mile north of Locke’s old camp. Locke wants Desmond dead. If Locke wants Desmond Dead, then they are going to need him. The group starts moving toward the well.

Barracks- (Day)- Miles, Richard, Ben finally reach the barracks to procure C4 to blow up the plane. Miles communes with Alex’s dead body. Richard tells Ben that after Ben left the barracks he buried Alex there. Ben did not realize that Alex was buried.

Ben’s Barrack- (Day)- Ben, Richard, and Miles enter Ben barrack. Ben then opens his secret closet where he hid C-4.

They realize that Zoe and Widmore are hiding within the barrack. Widmore tells Zoe to go to dock, get the equipment in their outrigger, and sink the outrigger. Widmore tells Ben he had rigged the plane with explosives since he arrived.  Widmore tells Ben Jacob invited him back to the island after convincing Widmore of the error of his ways.

Submarine Dock- (Day)- Locke enters the dock via an outrigger. Zoe, using binoculars, sees this and radios this back to Widmore, who tells Zoe to get back to Ben’s barrack.

Jungle- (Day)- Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley are traveling towards Desmond’s well. They are about an hour away. Hurley alone sees a vision of a young Jacob. Young Jacob asks Hurley for the ashes back that he took from Ilana’s belongings. Young Jacob takes the bag containing the ashes and runs with Hurley following. Hurley then runs into Jacob, who tells Hurley the ashes are in the small campfire burning before them. When the fire is out, he will be gone forever.

Ben’s Barrack-(Day)- Ben, Zoe, Miles, and Richard brace for Locke’s arrival. Widmore and Zoe hide in Ben’s secret room. Miles runs into the jungle with a radio (Ben has the other one). Richard waits outside the barracks to talk to Locke, while Ben waits on his porch. The smoke monster appears and ballistically catapults Richard into the air.

Ben’s Barrack- (Day)- The smoke monster turns into Locke outside of camera view. Ben tells Locke that the outrigger at the dock is Widmore’s and Widmore and Zoe are hiding inside his secret room. Locke enters the secret closet and kills Zoe. Ben kills Widmore after Widmore whispers into Lockes ear that Desmond is a measure of last resort. Locke and Ben then leave for Desmond’s well.

Jungle- (Night)- Hurley brings Kate, Jack, and Sawyer to Jacob. They all can see him. Jacob.  Jacob tells them there is a light in the center of the island. You have to make sure it never goes out. Jacob tells them the candidate must kill Locke. Jack volunteers to take over the job. Jacob takes Jack aside and tells Jack “Remember that balsa field you woke up in when you first got here?  Beyond that field, across the ridge is the heart of the island.  That’s where the light is. That’s where the Locke, is trying to go, and that’s what you have to protect.”

Jungle- (Night)- Ben and Locke walk through the jungle and approach Desmond’s well.

Desmond is not there, but a rope is that helped him out is. Locke tells Ben that Desmond is going to help him destroy the island.

 Travels Throughout Day Fourteen

Jungle- (Morning)- Morning campfire- Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sawyer wake. Jack tells the group what Jacob told him, and that he has assumed the position of Island protector. Sawyer leaves the group to get Desmond, while the rest travel to the Light Cave, leaving Sawyer obvious tracks to follow them.

Desmond’s well- (Morning)- Sawyer arrives at Desmond’s well and finds Ben and Locke. Locke tells Sawyer he needs Desmond to destroy the island.  Locke says the island will fall to the bottom of the sea while he sails away with his boat. Sawyer tells Locke that Jack has assumed Jacob’s position. Sawyer steals Ben’s rifle and leaves Ben and Locke for Jack’s group. Locke lets him go, telling Ben he doesn’t need Sawyer anymore.  Locke notices dog paws at the base of the well.

Rose and Bernard’s cabin- (Morning)- Desmond wakes up outside of Rose and Bernard’s cabin.  Desmond spent the night there but Rose tells Desmond he must leave after breakfast. Locke and Ben approach the cabin and Desmond agrees to go with Locke.

Jungle- (Morning)- Locke, Ben, and Desmond travel through the jungle. Desmond tells Locke he knows that he is being brought to a very bright light.

Barracks- (Day)- Miles finds Richard and tries in vain to radio Ben that he has found Richard. Miles and Richard decide to travel to Hydra to blow up the plane.

Jungle- (Day)- Sawyer catches up with Jack, Kate, and Hurley. Sawyer tells them he found Locke and Locke wants to destroy the island, but Desmond escaped. The group travels toward the Light cave.

Submarine dock- (Day)- Miles and Richard board the only outrigger left at he docks. They are traveling to Hydra with C-4 explosives to blow up the plane. As they are traveling across the channel, they find wreckage of the submarine. They find Frank holding onto the wreckage. Richard has a gray hair (implies that he is not immortal any longer since Jacob died).  Frank tells Miles and Richard that he can fly the plane away, that way the Black Smoke won’t be able to use it.  They decide to try and fly the plane away rather then blow it up.

“The End”-06x17

Jungle - (Day)- Ben, Locke, and Desmond meet up with Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, and Kate.  Kate tries to shoot Locke, but the bullets have no effect. Locke and Jack talk about Locke trying to destroy the island and Jack tells Locke he is going to kill him. They agree to travel together to the ‘Light Cave’

Jungle - (Day)- The group approaches the ‘Light Cave’. Locke tells the group that only Jack, Desmond, and he should go further. They agree.

Light Cave - (Day)– Desmond is tethered by a rope and lowered into the cave by Locke and Jack. Desmond doesn’t believe the island is real. He doesn’t believe the plane really crashed.  Locke’s hands appear to either bleed or simply are being covered with the muddy water the rope was in. It’s hard to distinguish.

Inside Light Cave - (Day)- Desmond finds at least two skeletons inside. One skeleton is in disarray, as if the person were pulled apart and strewn about. The other skeleton is of a person who seemed to die at rest. Desmond removes a stone plug in the middle of a fountain of water and the light goes out. A red glow emanates from within the cave and earthquakes occur throughout the island.  Locke tries to leave the cave, but Jack tackles him. Locke knocks Jack out and runs for his boat.

“The End”-06x17

Jungle-Close to the Light Cave -(Day)- The earthquakes topple a large tree that lands on Ben. The rest of the group try, but can’t move it.

Jungle- Entrance to the Light Cave -(Day)- Jack wakes up from being knocked out and enters the cave, trying to help Desmond.  When he gets no response Jack runs toward the Cave of Names.

Jungle-Close to the Light Cave -(Day)- Hurley, Kate, and Sawyer try to remove the tree from atop of Ben. Miles radios that he, Richard, and Frank are an hour away from leaving the island via the plane. Ben tells the group they can get to Hydra via Locke’s boat.

Above the Cave of Names –(Day)- Locke is about to climb down the ladder to the Elizabeth when Jack screams his name. Locke turns and they run toward each other and meet as Jack punches Locke in the face. They fight and Locke stabs Jack in the lower abdomen. Locke is about to plunge his knife into Jack’s neck when Kate shoots Locke, killing him. Jack kicks Locke’s body over the edge onto the rocks below.  Sawyer, Hurley, and Ben join Jack and Kate. The earthquakes continue.

Hydra- (Day)- Frank, Miles, and Richard work on repairing the plane

Above the Cave of Names -(Day)- Earthquakes continue. Jack explains to the group that whatever Desmond turned off, he needs to turn on. Kate and Sawyer jump from the cliff to expedite their reaching the sailboat, so they can get to the plane before it leaves. Hurley and Ben stay with Jack and return the Light Cave.

“The End”-06x17

Light Cave- (Day)- The earthquakes continue. Jack anoints Hurley as the next protector of the island and Ben and Hurley lower Jack into the cave by rope. Jack places the rope around Desmond and Desmond is pulled out of the cave by Hurley and Ben. Jack is able to replace the plug and the light and water return.

“The End”-06x17

Hydra-(Day)- Sawyer and Kate reach Hydra and find Claire on the beach. Kate convinces Claire to go with them. They are able to reach the plane in time and the plane takes off, apparently leaving the island.

Entrance to the Light Cave-(Day)- Desmond appears as if he will survive. Hurley asks Ben if he will help him protect the island and get Desmond back home. Ben says he would be honored.

Jungle-Close to the Light Cave -(Day)- Jack finally succumbs to his wounds and collapses.  He looks up and sees the Ajira Jet pass over him. Jack smile, knowing his friends were able to leave the island, and closes his eyes and dies.
